Defense of the Roaring Furnace burns any fast-moving wooden item that comes within a pace of the holder of Ranulf's talisman with a blast of fire sufficiently intense to reduce arrows to ash and weaken pole arms to the point of snapping. Only wooden objects that are moving sufficiently fast to cause a person harm are targeted by this effect. The fires produced by this effect do +35 damage. The talisman will never target itself with this effect.
