If the target tries to engage in activities that require concentration while under the effect of this spell, a successful Concentration roll against an Ease Factor of 9 is required (ArM5, page 82). The dreadful effect of punishment lasts as long as the caster concentrates.

In Tolides' version of this spell, it appears as if the victim is wrapped in bands of darkness that tear at his flesh.
