About the Autors

Timothy Ferguson is a librarian in Nerang, Australia. He'd like to dedicate his section of the book to his partner, Linda, for being the sort of person that people dedicate books to. As further reading, he'd like to suggest Invisible Cities by Italo Calvino.

Mark Shirley is a zoologist from the South of England who is currently haunting the Lands of the Border Reivers. He has been playing Ars Magica since its second edition, and

writing for the game since the fourth edition. Were it not for the short life expectancy, poor sanitation, and lack of decent music, he would find Mythic Europe immeasurably more pleasurable than the Real World. He would like to thank his family, friends, and ferrets (which are not mutually exclusive categories) for their help and support.

Andrew P. Smith is a mysterious and shadowy figure last spotted on the shores of Lake Constance, southern Germany. His line of work is rumoured to be "something to do with maths and computers." Andrew would like to thank the playtesters, the editor, and his fellow authors for their productive input to his chapters.

Neil Taylor lives, games, and breeds grogs in Cambridge, along with his long-suffering non-gaming wife, and their ancient orange cat, Merlin.

About the Illustrators

Jason Cole attended the Academy of Art in San Francisco for two years before accepting a double scholarship to the Center for Creative Studies in Detroit. He is currently enrolled in F.I.T.'s MA in Illustration program.

Kelley Hensing (www. wickiearts.com) is a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design. Creating creatures and mythological characters is one of her favorite subjects. Inspirations include myths, fairy tales, and religious texts.

Eric Hotz (www.erichotz.com) has worked as a full-time illustrator since 1984, with over five years training in art and art design, and over 20 years of experience in the publishing industry. His studio is in Maple Ridge, British Columbia.

Brad McDevitt (www. bradleykmcdevitt.net), a 17-year veteran of gaming art, has done work for everyone from TSR to Pinnacle. He lives in Ohio with his wife Jessica.

Working on Ars Magica since 1989, Jeff A. Menges (www. skaircrow.com) is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Illustration, and has been freelancing in the gaming industry for nearly 20 years.

Grey Thornberry (www. greystudio.com) is a self-diagnosed (and self-medicated) illustrator based in Brooklyn, NY. "About art I'd say there's few things more important than a well-drawn line; about myself, caffeine is the only thing standing between me and the evil person I really am."

From The Lord of the Rings to the World of Darkness, Kieran Yanner (www.kieranyanner.com) has crept into award-winning publications for the past six years. Recent clients include DC Comics and The Upper Deck Company.
